Dr. Reddy’s unveils high blood pressure tablets in US

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, an integrated global pharmaceutical company, has introduced Metoprolol Succinate extended-release (ER) tablets of 25mg, 50mg, 100mg and 200mg strengths in the US.

The bioequivalent generic version of AstraZeneca’s Toprol-XL (Metoprolol Succinate) tablets, approved by the FDA, is indicated to treat high blood pressure.

The Toprol-XL brand and generic had US sales for the most recent twelve months ending June 2012 were approximately $1.13bn according to IMS Health.

Dr. Reddy’s is making Metoprolol Succinate ER tablets in 25mg, 50mg, 100mg and 200mg strengths available in bottle counts of 100 and 500.
