DWH, CPDD enter drug discovery deal
Scotland-based Developing World Health (DWH), focused on developing treatments for neglected tropical diseases, has entered an agreement with Consortium for Parasitic Drug Development (CPDD), based at The University of North Carolina.
The alliance intends to develop new drugs for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
The partnership is expected to generate in excess of $15m investment in drug development for NTDs that urgently need safe and effective new treatments.
Developing World Health founder and CEO Stuart WG Smith said their goal is to facilitate the development of new treatments for NTDs.
"This collaboration will mean that we can expedite the development of novel treatments and help save the lives of many more children and adults afflicted by the scourge of NTD's," Smith added.
